CONCLUSION: There is no equal time obligation for scientific disputes.

REASONING: An equal time obligation only exists for social disputes.

ANALYSIS: The argument is assuming that a scientific dispute can never also be a social dispute.

  1. This would strengthen the argument.
  2. “Often” doesn’t tell us how often. Maybe this is still only true for social issues and not scientific issues.
  3. Great! But this tells us nothing about what to do with scientific issues.
  4. CORRECT. This shows that these scientific disputes are similar to social disputes. Therefore both sides may deserve equal time.
  5. That’s one way to solve the problem. But it doesn’t tell us what to do if a network does decide to broadcast a scientific issue.
